Hello there everyone!
This Transfer has gone so
quickly, it's been crazy. We have had a really busy week this week, starting
with Tuesday in which we had our ZTM. It was a wonderful meeting and the Topics
covered were great. Sister Muduwa trained on how to use the Book of Mormon in
every phase of teaching, so we did some really awesome role plays, everyone had
to do one. I have really grown to love role plays, they are really beneficial to
teach practicals. We had some great counseling about finding methods that have
best worked in the past and which we should focus on as a zone. We weren't able
to cover all the topics that we had planned for, but all in all it was a
success and the spirit was present. That evening I took one of the Elders to
the Dentist while my companion was on splits teaching.

Wednesday we had dedicated to
flat checks. As Zone Leaders we have to inspect and bring the flats up to
missionary standard, and because we were asked in MLC to do flat checks week 5,
we went up and did them in the sisters and Busias. That was basically the whole
day, travelling to busia and back is exhausting, on the way back our bus was
going pretty fast, but we saw another bus that had flipped in the road, and
once our driver saw that, he was much slower from then on.
The rest of this week we did a
lot of teaching and visiting with Less Actives. We were scheduled to have David
baptized this Sunday, but having met with him three times this week, we all
felt that it wasn't right and that he needs to better understand the Priesthood
and reason for baptism. So we have postponed for a little while, but he has said
that regardless he will still come to church and continue to learn, he
considers his knowledge of the Book of Mormon to be like a child, but the Bible
to as a old man. hahaOn Sunday the Horners gave talks about the Family Guide book that is being implemented to support the outlying groups of people in Kenya that are not close enough to attend church, but are still able to live and learn the gospel principles within their own home. We were greatly blessed at church to have 13 investigators present and 5 Less Actives, the Lord is truly opening the way for the work to go forward in Kisumu, the branch is also really stepping it up in their participation and assistance for the work. After church there were two baptisms, the sisters investigator requested that I baptize him, that was a really special privilege.
Well sorry to be short, we are rushing right now, like I said, time goes so quick! I love you all and thank you for you support and prayers.
Love always,
Elder Rushton Jay Hiltbrand
