Apr 4 Sorry for not writing last week...

Hello everyone,

Sorry for not writing last week, We had very little time to email due to a busy day, so today I will try to make up for what happened last week and this week.

So last week was a pretty ordinary week, this transfer has been pretty mellow compared to last transfer in which we were having to rush around place to place and take care of MLC's (Mission Leadership Conferences) and Zone Conference.  This transfer we don't have much going on in that regard, so it gives us more time to focus on proselyting. Since the Zimmerman Area was closed for the second set of Elders serving there, it's just us serving there. This is great because we have more people to teach and much more to do in our area, but the only down side is it takes longer for investigators to progress to baptism because we are unable to teach them so often.

We have some really awesome people that we're currently working with. One of which is a man named Emmanuel.  He is in his mid - late Twenties and is really dedicated to the Gospel. He is that kind of guy who once he hears the truth, he will act upon it without question, also he sincerely keeps his commitments which is a huge part in growing in the Gospel! When we taught him about the Word of Wisdom, he went out that very day and bought Drinking Chocolate to replace the tea and coffee he had previously been drinking. Really just a great guy and a pleasure to teach him. We are also teaching a lady named Florence, she is the wife of a powerful member who served in the Kenya Nairobi Mission many, many years ago. She had been taught before, but due to pregnancy and such she wasn't able to come to church every week, and stopped meeting with the missionaries for some time. So we are reviewing the lessons with her and teaching what she hadn't been taught before. Her husband Brother Ndete is a great help and reviews the pamphlets with her to help her better understand.

Some of the Recent Converts we are teaching are truly inspiring, two YSA (Young Single Adults) in particular, Wycliff and Steven. They have both only been members for less than a year, but they are so powerful. Truly dedicated to the responsibilities they are given and to increasing their Gospel Knowledge. They are both seeking to serve missions, and in the mean time they help us a ton by teaching with us. Really just great brethren to be around. Wycliff will be going soon to get a certificate in operating large machinery, so before he departs, he has been assisting us almost every day. Steven is staying around, he is the only member in his family, but strives continually to share the gospel with them. His father initially wanted him to go back to the village to farm, but when Steven explained that he needed to attend church weekly, his father agreed to find another solution, so he was really excited about that. They both received the Melchizedek Priesthood on Sunday. That was a big step for them, they were, incredibly happy. You can just see that with their devotion, the Lord will be able to use them to accomplish great things in the future, within their family, job, and church callings.

Sunday was good. We had a lot of investigators present, and this white guy showed up with a referral for us. He is actually a student at BYU but is here working for a company. Nice guy, the referral he gave us was for his friend, Fredrick, who is a Kenyan and works in the same company. Really interested in the church, so we are looking forward to teaching him.
